At Roots Jiu Jitsu Club, we offer both Gi and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training to provide students with a complete grappling experience.

Gi Jiu Jitsu is practiced while wearing the traditional BJJ uniform (gi). Training in the gi emphasizes grip fighting, control, technique, and strategic movement. Students develop strong fundamentals while learning submissions, escapes, sweeps, and positional control using the gi as part of the sport.

No-Gi Jiu Jitsu is practiced in athletic attire such as a rash guard and grappling shorts. Without the gi, training becomes faster-paced and focuses on body positioning, wrestling, takedowns, clinch work, and submission techniques that translate well to self-defense, competition, and mixed martial arts.

Our curriculum incorporates both styles to help students become well-rounded grapplers. Whether your goal is self-defense, fitness, competition, or personal growth, training in both gi and no-gi will help you build a complete understanding of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
